I featured in The Daily Star….Racing Pages
“ HAYLEY TURNER showed she is as good a horseman as anyone riding when driving Dream Ahead home in yesterday’s Group One July Stakes.
Not too many girls get the chance to ride in the top races but Turner has won 100 races in a season and it was only a matter of time before she was given a mount with a realistic chance of winning a Group One race.”

Professional Players Federation National Conference 2011
I was asked to give a speech at the Professional Players Federation National Conference this year.
I was anxious about the day as I’ve never attended one before and with it being about a variety of sports I was slightly out my comfort zone.
There were four different sections over the course of the day:
Section 1……. Commercial Gain vs. Good of the Game
This was opened with a presentation by Barry Hearn who I could listen to all day, he is a very driven man and really seems to transfer his energy.
Section 2….Privacy and Social Media
Joey Barton played a key role in this discussion, his points on Social Media are modern and something everyone should take on board, he seems a step ahead of people on the subject. I got it. Dont miss the boat!!
Section 3……Betting in Sport
I’m not going to lie to you, this section bored the hell out of me. I can’t tell you an awful lot more because I switched off and started messing on my phone.
Section 4……The Chair Mans Panel
This involved Me, David Barnes (Rugby Players Association) Vikram Solanki (Professional Cricketers Association) & Howard Wilkinson (League Managers Association) I did feel a bit out of place! We spoke about various topics. Is there any corruption in the sport? What is the down side to the job? And of course The Whip debate!
Over all a very interesting day, it was nice to be involved and to be asked along, it was brilliant that they want Racing involved in the discussions.
CNN – Britain’s Best Female Jockey

CNN filmed a nice little piece back in August. It’s a bit of an insight into where I got where I am today.
See what you think…..Click Here
CNN
“(CNN) — There are few sports in which men and women compete, head to head, on a truly equal footing. Horse racing, however, is one domain where they can do battle.
But unlike other areas of equestrianism such as three-day eventing, women jockeys have struggled to make their mark alongside their male counterparts. Until now.”

SAMVO… Betting Cafe
The most regular thing people say to me nowa days is “I bet you’re bored” I dont think they believe me when I tell them how busy I’ve been, but I promise TRUE STORY!
Last week I spent the day with the currently very unpopular John McCrerick, opening two new Samvo betting cafes. There was a massive turn out and it all went pretty smoothly.
I dont know what the general thoughts are on betting shops but whenever I walk in to one I feel really out of place and I get strange looks from the old boys stood around, and not because they know who I am! I find them a bit grubby and smelly, that’s the Betting Shops not the old men!!!
Samvo is a new kind of betting shop, they’re very smart up to date and welcoming. I think this is an idea which will snowball, it’s sure to attract a younger audience which can only be good for racing.
